Bass Player – Ed Overholt
What’s your background, history in music?
I first started playing cello at State Road Elementary School under the direction of Leigh Elder. In middle school Mardel Allen found that I had a voice. I studied voice with Dan Johnson-Wilmot who had just moved to La Crosse and joined the faculty at Viterbo University. While in high school at La Crosse Central High School, I switched from the cello to the string bass and electric bass. The Robed Choir and Henry Aronson taught me the discipline of music and then I then studied voice at Luther College with Dave Judisch and performed in the Nordic Choir for 3 years with Dr. Weston Noble. Dr. Noble has been, and always will be, the most influential mentor in my musical life.
